Enhancing STEM education and promoting engineering programs in higher education

Alhamdulillah,
I recently had the honor of meeting Dato’ Seri Ir Dr. Kamal Nasharuddin bin Mustapha (former Vice-Chancellor of UNITEN) from the Board of Engineers Malaysia during his visit to my engineering program. Our conversation centered around increasing the visibility of the Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC), particularly regarding the accreditation and registration of higher education institutions (IHL) offering engineering programs. We also highlighted the crucial role engineers play in national development, emphasizing the importance of their education and training.
We further discussed the importance of outreach initiatives with engineering program providers to strengthen STEM education at both the primary and secondary school levels. Our goal is to inspire SPM leavers to pursue engineering programs at IHL, ensuring a bright future for engineering in Malaysia. This collaboration between EAC and IHL seeks to continually enhance the quality of engineering education and the accreditation process.
